No picture for this one. Driving home from the pet store this evening via a new route, I passed a county drainage basin. Not your traditional photo op but support for the "be prepared" mantra. Sitting there, in the middle of the water, sunning him(her)self was a Great Egret. The bird was sitting so still, I might have thought it a lawn ornament but why would there be a fake bird in a drainage basin?
I regretted not having my camera handy. Regretted it even more when I got home and realized I did have my camera, in a bag in the back seat.
